What do I wear?
Come dressed normally. You will need to be prepared to undress down to your underwear, and with ladies we may need to unclip your bra and move your bra strap during the treatment. At all times your modesty will be protected with towels.

How long is a treatment?
We offer 3 treatment durations. We do recommend that the first treatment is at least 60 minutes long so that we take a medical case history.

What can I expect?
We will start by taking a case history, followed by a standing postural assessment and injury specific diagnostic testing. We will tailor our treatment to your specific presentation.

You will be able to go back to work straight after treatment.

After a sports or remedial massage you may feel some discomfort - this is a normal inflammatory response for which we suggest the use of ice for 5-10 minutes as necessary.

To get the most from your treatment plan we will leave you with some 'home care' advice that can fit around your existing commitments.

When during pregnancy can I come and see you?
We can start treating you after your first 12 week scan. There are certain conditions that can arise during pregnacy that will preclude treatment eg pre-eclampsia or pregnancy diabetes amongst other things. If you feel that this applies to you please seek advice from your GP or midwife.

I have just had an injury, how soon can I come to see you?
You can come to see us as early on after an injury as you like. We would recommend that severe injury is diagnosed by your GP before we start specific treatment to that area. During the first 24-72 hours we will work around the injury to promote initiation of the healing process. Once this acute stage has passed we can begin to work on the injury site itself.

Sports massage can help to realign muscle, tendon and ligament fibres and encourage new tissue growth.

Do I need to have a sports injury to come and see you?
No, not at all. We have seen people with carpal tunnel syndrome, with postural aches and pains from sitting at an office desk all day, ballet dancers with ankle and calf strains, teachers with headaches, film directors with back problems, rugby players with achilles tendon tears, and tired mums wanting a relaxing or envigorating body massage.

How close to an event can I be treated?
We are also able to attend sporting events to carry out pre and post event massages both preparing sports people mentally and physically before their event with a warm up massage and calming them down, improving overall circulation and stretching and relaxing muscles after an event.

If you have any other questions, please contact us any time - we'd be happy to help.
